Hochformat. Darstellung des brennenden Luftschiffs nach der Explosion. Im Vordergrund ein Haus, rechts ein Feuerwehrauto.
Das Luftschiff LZ 4, welches am 20.6.1908 durch Graf Zeppelin fertiggestellt wurde, Länge: 136 m, 15000 qm Gasinhalt, 2 Motoren, 210 PS, führte Anfang August 1908 eine Fernfahrt über Basel, Speyer, Mainz, Stuttgart u.a. aus. Ein Motorschaden zwang das Luftschiff zur Landung in Echterdingen, wo das Luftschiff durch eine elektrische Entladung zerstört wurde.
