Historische Beschreibung lt. Verzeichnis im Aktenvorgang (1860): "Panja Ein Musik-Instrument, ähnlich einer Mandoline, beinahe 3´ lang. Oben, wo die Wirbel sind, an welchen die Saiten befestigt werden, ist Widderkopf geschnitzt, der Haupttheil des Instruments ist aus einer hohlen Kalebase gearbeitet u. mit Tierhaut überzogen."

Hauptkatalog Original-Eintrag Leopold von Ledebur (1861): "Panja, 4 saitiges Streich-Instrument, besonders zu Todtenfesten zu dem Gesange: Ananhitori."
