Rear: Kopf der Liberty mit Diadem, darauf LIBERTY, nach links, umgeben von 13 Sternen. Unter dem Kopf die Jahreszahl 1853. Auf der Wange vertieft T. Im l. F. ein halbkreisförmige Punze DR. G. G. WILKINS.
Punched: Intentionally marked with a punch, both contemporary to the object and later. In contrast to a countermark of a much more simple design. Not to be confused with punches creating a positive image, which were used during the manufacture of a die.
