Der rote Amitayus, "der Buddha von unendlicher Lebensdauer". (Mong. Janraisag)

Der transzendente Buddha Amitayus ist eine Darstellungsform von Amitabha (Herr des westlichen Paradieses), mit dem Unterschied, dass er anstelle eines Almosentopfes immer mit der Vase (kalasha), dem Wassertopf oder einer Flasche dargestellt wird. Das Gefäß enthält amrita, den Nektar der Unsterblichkeit, was auf den Namen von Amitayus, „der (Buddha) von unendlicher Lebensdauer“, anspielt.
