Description

Front: Drapierte Panzerbüste des Elagabalus mit Lorbeerkranz in der Rückenansicht nach r.
Rear: Der Kaiser zu Pferde nach l. Er hat seine r. Hand grüssend erhoben (adlocutio) und hält in der l. Hand einen Speer.
Pierced: Intentional hole(s) pierced through a coin so that it can be worn on a neclace, sewn onto textiles, etc. In case of paper money such a perforation often indicates devaluation.
Scratched: One or more scratches, intentional or unintentional. Can be the result of recovery or subsequent handling of a coin or medal.
Chop mark: A mark of undefined form made normally with a chisel-like tool, for example to test the purity of the core of a coin. It can also be the result of damage caused when the object was found.
