Description

Warrior basket of the Naga of Jaboka and Sangloi, used for ceremonial purposes. The names used for the ethnic groups today are Wancho, Nocte or Konyak Naga.

Black woven basket with a red and yellow ornamental band on the upper rim. In the centre, the head of a wildcat? Decorated with long plant fibres, which hang – mostly in groups of three – from a string of beads or a row of seedpods.
