The sword consists of an axe-like part made of iron and a wooden hilt. This particular sword or machete is decorated with tufts of hair and used mostly for ritual purposes. Daos without ornamentation are used as a tool or weapon, for example in headhunting. They are still commonly used by all Naga groups today.
