Der Siegelring trägt auf der rechteckigen Ringplatte den Namen „Amenophis, Herrscher von Theben“. Die Herstellung solcher Ringe erfolgte durch ein besonderes Verfahren: Ein Modell des Ringes mit seiner gesamten Inschrift wurde aus Bienenwachs gearbeitet und mit Ton umkleidet. Beim Erhitzen floss das Wachs aus der Form und man konnte geschmolzenes Gold in den Hohlraum gießen. (M. Jung)
