Maria Theresia (1638 – 1683) war die jüngste Tochter des spanischen Königs Philipp IV. aus dessen erster Ehe mit Isabella von Frankreich. Sie heiratete 1660 König Ludwig XIV. von Frankreich, wodurch der Friede zwischen Frankreich und dem habsburgischen Spanien besiegelt wurde. Der Kupferstich entstand nach einem verlorenen Porträtgemälde von Antoine Dieu und zeigt die Königin in informeller Kleidung auf einer Terrasse sitzend. Text: A. Rasche
