According to St. Matthew’s Gospel (28, 1-10), he gave them a message for the disciples. But the composition is determined by the idea of “Noli me tangere” (Do not touch me), which comes from St. John’s Gospel (20, 14-18), where Mary Magdalene first of all took Christ for the gardener.
